Carew is a busy man - painter, poet, professional dancer, and DJ at a bar called Stingy Lulu's in the Village. His partner and collaborator, Jennie Booth, is also an artist who creates issue-oriented paintings and sculptures. "Her work is very aggresive," Carew said. "Sometimes it scares people who like their art to be a little glossier." Carew and Booth's Cow Science is more intriguing than aggressive. It was inspired by a photograph Booth took of an antique periodic table of the elements she found on a walk in a village in Italy. Carew and Booth liked the look of the table. So did the people at CowParade. But by the time Carew and Booth's cow finally arrived, they had only two weeks to paint the beast. "We worked until 3 o'clock in the morning," Carew said.
